Dribbble may be my all-time favorite website. Love it. But lately when I’m looking for web layout inspiration, Pinterest, Apartment Therapy and a few others have my back. Sure, it helps that I want to cover every inch in my house with the lovelies I find on these sites, but they translate for me too. I found the pics above, had half an hour to spare in Illustrator and boom Ampersand has a logo (finally, a logo!). I notice more and more that I’m drawn to surprising touches of color and pieces that ‘have a life’. By “have a life’ I mean that they aren’t straight out of the catalog or bought on the cheap at IKEA (btw, I wrote iKea twice before realizing my mistake) but pieces that have had a great life with another family and look a little worse for the wear. Come on dresser/website, I’ll make you pretty again. Maybe dressers and tree twigs don’t get other web designer’s creative juices flowing, but it works for me.
